Hello! I love all things marketing and the different requests for support I get asked for. There are all manner of ways I could be of support to your business, but the most common projects I undertake are strategic planning and advice to help steer businesses to meet their marketing goals.  My aim is to get the best return on investment for you.

I can also provide outsourced marketing support for your business on an ongoing retained basis. Some clients just what help to review your marketing requirements and perhaps provide on the job training to your existing teams.

I am also Business Advisor for the Cumbria Growth Hub part of the Cumbria Chamber of Commerce providing marketing and general support for a range of small and medium sized businesses across the South Lakes. Businesses can access my marketing knowledge for start up advice or expansion plans to simply guide them along the right path when making informed tactical marketing decisions which can be a minefield for business owners who wear many hats!

Although I am based in the South Lakes area living in Bowness and have an office in Kendal, I work with a range of clients across the North West so distance is no issue.

Caroline’s Experience

I have over 16 years of marketing experience and am a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Chartered Marketer status is the mark of an up-to-date, experienced and qualified marketing professional. I hold the marketing’s highest status awarded by The Chartered Institute of Marketing in recognition of my outstanding practical experience and expertise. There are not many Chartered Marketers in Cumbria or the North West region – we are a rare breed to find!

I also possess a BA(hons) Business Studies Degree and a Professional Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing. Enough of my qualifications… what experience I have is what matters right?

My aim in creating SMART Marketing is to provide value for money specialist marketing advice to a range of businesses across the North West specialising in but not limited to the leisure, tourism and retail sectors.

My past projects in leisure and tourism include many guest houses and self catering properties along with Holgates Holiday Parks, Windermere Marina Village, Pure Leisure Group, Royal Westmoreland Barbados and South Lakeland Parks (White Cross Bay, Fallbarrow & Limefitt). Within retail I have worked with Lakeland Ltd, Faradays Tasty, Brand Interiors, Jumper, Sock Shop, Viyella and Hawkshead. My philosophy is about measurability and I seek to find out and fine tune how to maximise your marketing spend giving clients the very best return on investment. I am capable of managing all aspects of digital media and traditional media giving brands a good all‑round integrated, strategic approach to marketing. I have also worked as a senior manager for over 10 years at board level and can advise on all aspects of strategic planning.

Over my career I have gained valuable insight to agency working which has helped my in‑house career and can pass on those experiences to future clients helping them make informed choices about the right agency selection.
